Cover Star 1 Biography
COVER STAR 1: WILL DUDDING
Saint Hendrix, Male, Age 17
Saint Hendrix, son of catholic parents Bonnie and James, is a talented young guitarist with a no.2 song on the official top 40 and Billboard’s Hot 100 at the age of only 17. Born in Scunthorpe and raised in Hull, Saint has an interest in both American and British music, especially all things pop rock. When his primary school brought in a special guest to teach basic guitar and ukulele skills, he discovered a special interest in the craft, and asked his parents to buy him his first guitar. Bonnie and James eventually agreed, on the condition that he’d play for Church every Sunday once he got good enough, as they understood how important this was for Saint. Now having a guitar and somewhere to play, Saint was thrilled, and practiced almost every day. Initially, it was traditional ballads and church hymns, until he discovered rock pop, and the electric guitar. Having built up his skill, Saint was able to enter every competition he could, ranging from small pub gigs to the local fair, earning him a small amount each time to eventually allow him to afford a new electric guitar, with some additional funding from his parents who, whilst could seldom understand his keen interest in rock and blues, were extremely supportive. With the rise of technology, Saint created a Youtube channel at the age of 14, where he posted covers, tutorials, and, eventually, his own original songs. Saint often added humour and a light-hearted, friendly feel to his guitar videos, often talking to his subscribers as friends. One day, he posted a parody video of a scene from Jack Black's "School of Rock" that eventually went 'viral', attracting a large audience and, on one particular day, the interest of TV show presenter Paul Coogan. This special appearance on the show gave Saint, now 16, the exposure and confidence he needed to release some original songs he had been working on. Now, 17, Saint has an album and many singles released, with a no.3 spot on some of the most popular music charts, and still plays for his church almost every Sunday.
